Sometimes, sitting to meditate can be a big challenge. We fidget and fuss with our mind running all over the place. The origins of yoga came as an aid to sitting in meditation. Working the wriggles and aches out of our body before we settle in stillness. But yoga itself is known to be a moving meditation, combining your breath with movement is a great way to get out of the thought process with the added benefit of building strength & tone. My Hatha classes are strong yet fun and accessible to all. I also offer more restorative practices. All are open to individuals, groups or corporate bookings.
Meditation can help to keep you present, the only moment that really exists. But really – what does that even mean?! You know how your mind is always planning, thinking about work tomorrow, tonight’s dinner, this summer’s holiday. Or maybe you’re caught up in ruminating on a conversation you had last week, or something you forgot to do. None of any of that really matters – it’s not here yet, or it’s gone, nothing can be done about it. So meditation helps us to keep our minds on what is happening now. And with that, comes a sense of calm. A spaciousness to consider our reactions. An awareness of what really matters and a more open heart towards others.
